Youth Leadership & Capacity Building

CBO/CSO STRENGTHENING​

Mobile Library Services
(Hparat Gintawng Mobile Library)

"Youth Leadership and Capacity Building" refers to activities and programs designed to empower young individuals with leadership skills and the ability to effectively contribute to their communities and societies. These initiatives aim to enhance young people's capacity to address challenges, make informed decisions, and take on leadership roles.

Pyoe emphasis on the "Building capacity and strengthening CBO/CSO" to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). These organizations play essential roles in addressing social issues, advocating for community needs, and promoting positive changes. Strategies/Approaches of strengthening CBOs/CSOs Training and Skill Development: Providing training programs to improve the skills of CBO/CSO staffs and volunteers; project cycle management, proposal writing, communication, financial management, Organizational Development: Assisting organizations in developing clear missions, strategies, Policies/Procedures, and governance structures to better manage their programs/activities. Networking and Collaboration: Encouraging CBOs and CSOs to collaborate with other organizations, share resources, and coordinate efforts to maximize their impact. Resource Mobilization:  Helping and Supporting organization with diverse resources including human resources, grants opportunities, donations, and partnerships.

Pyoe provides Mobile Libraries services and set of a tool which create a space of recreation and a place of meeting in regular and to raise the knowledge development and reducing tension of IDP children and community members by using the mobile library. Reading and conversation sessions are equipped and most of IDP Children get a sense of happiness and enjoying in the involvement of activities. This service is not only the children’s attention towards knowledge seeking and reading, but also for adults.

World Day Against Child Labour
(WDACL)

Every year, on June 12, Pyoe celebrates World Day Against Child Labour to spread the massages of the risks of child exploitation, abuse, prevention and protection measures against child labour. The objectives of the event is 1) to conduct an awareness-raising event to mark the WDACL at the community level, 2) to advocate for children affected by or at risk from child labour, 3) to raise awareness of child labour and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, unstable political situation, promoting a culture of prevention among key stakeholders, institutions and the general public, and 4) to engage local stakeholders in participating in awareness raising campaigns on child labour. Pyoe conducted this event in Myitkyina, Waingmaw and Mogaung Township, over 1000 children and parents participated.

Pyoe gives the case management services for the children who are violated from the rights of the child to prevent and protect the child from exploitation, abuse, neglect and violence. Providing case management assistance to children throughout Pyoe's Case Management SOP. The case management assistance includes but not limited to psychosocial supports, cost related accommodation, emergency food, emergency travel, other survival and basic emergency needs and legal aid. The community-based child protection groups (CBCPG) were formed and empowered with Pyoe’s technical assistance to identify, response and refer child cases. Pyoe also coordinates with other agencies through referral network to ensure child receives basic services appropriately.

Child Friendly Space (CFS)& Recreation
Activities

Child-Friendly Spaces are nurturing environments created within a community for children to play, learn and relax in a safe space. It is more than a place for games and recreation, it is an approach for supporting children and youth to achieve their full physical cognitive, social and emotional development within an emergency context. Based on cultural and age appropriateness, Pyoe provides CFS service and activities including fun activities, such as games, sports, and singing; informal learning opportunities in reading, basic hygiene, and life lessons including life skills for adolescents; a chance for children to express their feelings of fear and loss through creative play, stories and group interactions; a chance for parents to go about their daily activities without worrying about their children’s safety. Pyoe establishes, renovates and run CFS at IDP camps and communities and supports CFS kits for children.

Community Dialogue

Community dialogues are an interactive participatory communication process of sharing information between people or groups of people aimed at reaching a common understanding and workable solutions. Communities are better to solve address problems issues through dialogue and will help enhance social cohesion. Pyoe provide the capacity building on dialogue and dialogue facilitation for women and youths and work together with local partners organization. Currently, Pyoe implement a project which targeted 30 villages from Myitkyina, Mohnyin and PutaO district to strengthen community knowledge on disaster management and youth capacity building through a dialogue approach and participatory way.
